Abstract

In this study, the design of an FTTB network based on Optisystem Software and Google Earth Pro with GPON technology at the Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University with 11 buildings. There are several parameters used as benchmarks in this study, namely Power Link Budget, Bit Error Rate, and Rise time Budget. From the results of software and manual analysis, the power link budget value ranges from -17 dBm to -18 dBm below the standard receive power sensitivity (Rx) of -28 adBm. For the Bit error rate value, the value ranges from 10-50 to 10-22 below the maximum limit for network feasibility of 10-9. The Rise time budget value obtained for downstream conditions ranges from 0.27 to 0.2808 below the maximum limit of 0.2813 ns, while for upstream the value ranges from 0.25 to 0.51 below the maximum limit of 0.562 ns. The results of calculations using software and manual methods can be concluded that the performance of network design can be said to be feasible, good, and meets the ITU-T G.984 standard.
