Development of Website-Based Smart Hybrid Reader Devices for Smart Campus Implementation
Abstract
Smart campus has the potential to improve the effectiveness of campus operations. However, this can be achieved by solving the problem of interconnection and interoperability of Internet of Things (IoT)-based devices. So in this study, a system was created that can connect several IoT implementations on a smart campus, namely, attendance system, parking system and indoor condition monitors that can be interoperated by various components. The purpose of the study is to create a smart hybrid reader device that can be installed and interoperated with the website. The smart campus system can be accessed with RFID cards and websites. The systems that can be accessed with RFID cards are the attendance system and parking system, while using the website applies to all systems. Based on the tests that have been carried out, the results show that the smart card on the attendance system reader can be read up to 2.5 cm while the parking system reader can be read at a maximum distance of 3 cm, if at a distance of more than 3 cm, the smart card will fail to be read. While the delay for the attendance system is 186 ms and for the parking system is 1 second 862 milliseconds. Indoor system testing, monitoring was successfully carried out by displaying the temperature and humidity of the room. Meanwhile, interconnection and interoperability testing on the system is carried out using the HTTP communication protocol by integrating via the website via the smartcampusunhas.com URL page.Downloads
